Afternoon

Spend time strolling through Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street, a covered arcade stretching several blocks and blending traditional shops with contemporary fashion and character goods.

Continue to Pokémon Center Osaka DX for exclusive merch and encounters with life-sized statues.

Evening

Optional add-on: Before heading to Dotonbori, visit Hozen-ji Temple, known for its lantern-lit alleyway and moss-covered statue said to bring visitors good luck.

As night falls, head to Dotonbori, Osaka’s most iconic entertainment district where neon signs illuminate the canal, including the famous Glico Running Man and towering mechanical billboards. Consider taking a Tombori River cruise for a short ride beneath the glowing skyline. Have dinner in the area—okonomiyaki, Osaka’s savory cabbage pancake layered with meat or seafood, is a local specialty. Exhibits trace the global rise of Cup Noodles, and the highlight is designing your own custom cup with personalized ingredients. Day 4: Nara’s Temples and Timeless Streets

Step outside Osaka for a day of historic temples, friendly deer, and charming streets, with time to explore local shops before returning to the city’s bustling heart.

Morning

Board the shinkansen for an early trip to Nara, then head to Kofuku-ji Temple, the family temple of the Fujiwara clan, then wander through Nara Park, where tame deer roam freely and may bow to you to get a treat. The deer can be pushy at times, so consider carrying young children or maintaining some distance from the deer.

Continue to Todai-ji Temple, home to the massive Great Buddha statue. It is said that if you can fit through the opening in the wooden pillar near the Buddha that you will be blessed with good luck and health.

Afternoon

Enjoy lunch in the Naramachi district, Nara’s historic merchant neighborhood, and explore its boutique shops and traditional streets. If you’re lucky, you might catch a demonstration of mochi pounding through the windows of Nakatanidou, a famous spot in Nara for mochi.

Evening

Optional add-on: Before leaving Nara, head to Kasuga Taisha Shrine, where vivid vermilion buildings and thousands of lanterns create a magical atmosphere.

Head back to Osaka and the day with sweeping views from the Umeda Sky Building, watching Osaka’s skyline illuminate as night falls.
