Day 1: Kyoto in Bloom

Experience Kyoto at its most poetic during sakura season, where canal-side pathways, temple gardens, and historic districts are transformed into soft pink landscapes that blend natural beauty with centuries of cultural refinement.

This itinerary requires an early start to manage transit and crowds. Alternatively, you can split the places up over two days.

Morning

Begin your day at Kiyomizu-dera, one of Kyoto’s most famous cherry blossom settings. The expansive wooden stage overlooks a hillside filled with blooming trees, creating sweeping panoramic views of the city framed in pink.

After exploring the temple, stroll through the preserved streets of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka, where traditional wooden buildings and seasonal sweets add to the spring atmosphere.

Afternoon
